PEP e. V. (Projects for development support in Peru and Latin America) is a non-profit association that was founded on February 22, 2002 in Trier. Its intention is to promote social and economic development, health, education, culture and environmental protection in Peru and Latin America.
What motivates us?
Our work revolves around social and economic sustainable development. Under social development we understand the improvement of individual living conditions and the positive change in social, economic and political structures, without which sustainable social development cannot be guaranteed
For PEP, economic development is much more than economic growth, because this only makes sense if it is accompanied by a fairer distribution of economic success within the population and the long-term preservation of resources. Sustainable development means meeting the needs of the present in a way that does not limit the opportunities of future generations. Sustainability implies economic efficiency, social justice and ecological sustainability.
What do we do?
For the environment and climate change
Global warming is progressing ever faster and can be felt in all regions of the world through changes in the climate system. The effects of global warming due to the greenhouse effect are becoming more and more severe and there is an urgent need to reduce the CO2 concentration in the atmosphere. Reducing CO2 emissions will not be enough, active removal of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere is needed. There is consensus in science about this.
We aim to contribute to the active removal of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere through reforestation, thereby alleviating the negative impacts of the global climate crisis. In doing so, we also seek to improve the economic, social, and ecological conditions of the families directly involved in the project, as well as those in the surrounding community.
The majority of Peru's population does not have access to adequate healthcare, often not even the most basic.
Patients usually have to cover the entire cost of their treatment themselves. This often leads to many patients from the poor sections of the population remain untreated.
Since 2002, we have carried out medical missions in collaboration with other local and international organizations.
Together, we can create a better and more sustainable world, but we can’t
do it without you. The entire donation will be used to support our projects and help us continue
our mission.
